About the role

The Senior Project / Programme Manager role forms part of our Operations Team with a focus on delivering complex project portfolios and strategic programmes. The programmes are either for our larger strategic customers to deliver their KPIs or internal programmes of work to deliver our strategic goals and ensure our business performance measures are met.  Another key area of focus for this role is to continuously review our operations and organisational structure to look for improvements and redefine as required.

You’ll be accountable for

– Strategic goals planning and delivery (large programmes)

– Building and managing integrated delivery plans across multiple projects in a portfolio and/or programme

– Proactively managing projects ‘in-flight’ to look for a better way and deliver to targets

– Business wide operational improvement – feeding into operating model and organisational design

– Working as part of a Customer Squad on larger, more complex success plans to:

  • Plan and deliver customer success plan projects
  • Scope & estimate projects & features and sign-off costs
  • Facilitate Proof of Concept scoping and estimating
  • Deliver Proof of Concept based on the agreed success criteria

Produce business cases for projects and programmes

– Commercially aware of impact of project delays on business measures

– Scenario planning based on business outcomes

You’ll be responsible for

– Working with a Customer Success Manager to plan programmes of work based on our internal objectives (i.e revenue growth) and the customer’s strategic targets

– Owning a portfolio of projects with a mix of internal initiatives, product features and customer work, ensuring the projects and tasks within are prioritised in a proactive manner

– Building robust business cases to support decision making  

– Working with the Project Operations Manager to input into capacity planning across all projects and helping plan delivery and resource across the business

– Forming part of a Customer Squad for larger strategic customers 

– Can manage the ambiguity of a programme and continuously reshape to still deliver the key targets

– Clearly communicating status to all relevant stakeholders and seeking resolution where we have issues 

– Reviewing the current business operating model across people, process and technology and able to input into any organisational design changes

– Reviewing existing business processes to understand the root causes of any issues and continuously monitors process during the embedding stage to look for further improvements

– Encouraging effective backlog grooming and prioritisation with Product Owners, to ensure a steady stream of well specified and documented stories for the sprint teams

– Leading the collaborative planning process for each sprint
